"May Your Song Always Be Sung - The Songs Of Bob Dylan Vol. 3" is following volumes 1 & 2, which gathered some of the more unfamiliar and unusual versions of Bob Dylan’s songs. They came with extensive liner notes and were very well received both by the media and by the public. Combined worldwide sales reached 27.000 copies, which is a terrific number for this sort of album! They were even very well received by Bob Dylan's office in New York, - one of the tracks on Vol. 2 was chosen for Dylan’s upcoming movie “Masked & Anonymous”. Whereas Volumes 1 & 2 were made up largely with BMG catalog material (Patti Smith, Elvis Presley, Cowboy Junkies, Etta James etc. - with a few independent artists on the side), Volume 3 will be different: first, it’s a double, then it’s a digipack, and then you’ll see some names in the tracklisting that you might not know. The concept of this album was to gather some of the musically most interesting Dylan covers of recent years on one compilation. So you’ll find some well known names in the track listing, even some songs that were exclusively done for this project, and a lot of names that you might not be familiar with, but will make you want to hear more. Apart from US and UK artists, there are entries from Spain, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Italy, Japan and Bulgaria, a few of them even in their native language. So don’t fear if you hear a foreign sound to your ear, - it’s amazing how these interpretations show their own charm. Sit back. Enjoy two and a half hours of great music. And watch those paw-kin meters.
